Bio
Kathy Kelley Ohlrich holds a B.S. in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an M.Ed. from Cleveland State University. She has extensive experience in governance and community service, having led as president of the Ohio Speech Language Hearing Association, chaired the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and served as an elected councilperson in her Ohio municipality. Kathy also chaired the committee responsible for drafting her community's Comprehensive Plan.
In Sarasota, Kathy served as both a member and chair of the Citizens with Disabilities Advisory Board and held positions as vice chair and chair of the City's Planning Board, bringing valuable expertise in planning, zoning, and development standards.
Active in her neighborhood, Kathy has served on the Architectural Review Committee and as both secretary and president of her neighborhood association. She represented Glen Oaks Ridge at the Coalition of City Neighborhood Associations (CCNA), later joining the CCNA Executive Committee as District 3 representative, then as 1st Vice Chair, and ultimately as chair in 2015 and 2016. Kathy’s governance experience is complemented by her proficiency in parliamentary procedure.
In 2022, Conserve Bobby Jones Now—a conservation group she co-founded—was honored with the Conservation of the Year Award from The Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast. Kathy recently completed an 80-mile, 6-day trek on the Camino de Santiago after months of dedicated training along the Legacy Trail.
