Change to Lien Search Process

Effective May 1, 2020

Attention title companies, closing agents and others obtaining information about outstanding debt owed to the City:

The City of Sarasota has partnered with Orange Lien Data, LLC to process lien search requests/estoppels.

Effective May 1, 2020, The City of Sarasota will no longer be accepting lien research/estoppel requests via fax, post or email.  All request should be processed through Orange Lien Data, LLC.

For your convenience, you may use one of the following methods to order lien searches. All major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express) will be accepted.

The fee is $87.50 for each lien search request.

The complete property address, name of the owner(s) and parcel ID numbers will be required for all searches of outstanding municipal liens, code enforcement liens and outstanding utility balances, and false alarm liens

Orders placed via email or fax will be returned.

Looking for a final payoff for a code lien?

If you already have your order number and do not want us to complete a Code Violation or Code Lien search, we are able to provide you with a final payoff at no charge. We would only need the following information:

• Order Number
• The date you would like the interest calculated through.
• How you would like the results provided to you: Fax, email, or regular US Mail.

You may submit these requests in person, by telephone, by mail or by email.
