Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park Bay Estuary Program Restoration Project - Public Art Element
New artwork is now on display in Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park. Artist and Newtown resident, Nevtar Azkadinya (Nevtar Navi Sba), has produced four vibrant representations of the physical, spiritual, and aspirational energies that speak to Newtown past, present, and future. The images, originally produced as large-scale oil on canvas, were reproduced as vinyl murals as a long-term public art installation. This project was funded by the Sarasota Bay Estuary Program as part of an estuary restoration project, in partnership with Newtown Nation, the North Sarasota Environmental Collaborative, the City of Sarasota Public Art Program, and the City of Sarasota Parks and Recreational Division.
