The City of Sarasota is constructing a modern roundabout at the intersection of Ringling Blvd and Pine Place. The project limits on Ringling Blvd extend approximately 320 feet to the west and 260 feet to the east of the center of the intersection. Pine Place limits extend approximately 130 feet to the north and 110 feet to the south. Features are to include the following:
- Removal of span wire
- Landscaped center island of the roundabout and the four adjacent corners.
- Irrigation
- Drainage and utility adjustments.
- New and replacement light poles within project limits.
- Paver brick crosswalks at the four legs of the roundabout, truck apron, and island approaches.
- In-road warning lights controlled by automatic activation bollards at the crosswalks.
- New Sarasota County Area Transit bus stop & transit shelter. Design to allow staging of two busses outside of the travel lane.
- Milling & Resurfacing
- Striping and markings to match the bicycle and pedestrian enhancements to the Ringling Trail

Status:
Phase 2 (9/5 through November): The contractor will complete construction of the roundabout, including the south leg. The construction work zone will be fenced for safety.
- Full intersection closure.
- Access to all public buildings and private businesses is to be maintained at all times
- There will be access to Q Townhomes via Westbound Ringling Blvd
- There will be access to the U.S. Post Office via Eastbound Ringling Blvd
- Bicyclist connectivity is to be diverted North to Main Street for the remainder of construction
